Vector Files (Print, Large Format, Source Files)
Vector files are used anytime your logo needs to be printed, scaled, or reproduced at high quality. They are resolution‑independent, meaning they can be enlarged infinitely without losing clarity. These are your master production files.
.AI — Adobe Illustrator
- Native Illustrator source file
- Best for designers, not general use
- Unlimited resolution
- Not for web use
- Often redundant if EPS + PDF are provided
.PDF — Vector PDF
- Viewable on any device without special software
- Can contain editable vector artwork
- Ideal for sharing with vendors
- Not intended for direct web use
.EPS — Encapsulated PostScript
- Universal vector format supported by most professional design tools
- Ideal for print shops, embroidery, signage, and packaging
- Unlimited resolution
- Not for web use
- Often considered the “master” production file
.SVG — Scalable Vector Graphic
- Vector format for websites and apps
- Crisp at any size on any screen
- Small file size
- Supports transparency
- Ideal for responsive logos, icons, and UI
- Not recommended for print unless approved by a designer
Raster Files (Web, Screens, Digital Use)
Raster files are pixel‑based and used for screens, websites, and digital applications. They cannot be enlarged beyond their original size without losing quality.
.JPG — JPEG
- Best for photos or complex images
- Always includes a background
- Small file size, loads quickly
- Not ideal for logos requiring transparency
- Cannot be enlarged beyond 100%
.PNG — Portable Network Graphic
- Supports transparency
- Great for logos, icons, and UI elements
- High color accuracy
- Larger file size than JPG
- Cannot be enlarged beyond 100%
.WEBP — Modern Web Raster
- Smaller file sizes than PNG/JPG
- Supports transparency
- Ideal for high‑performance websites
- Not supported in some older software
