CHOOSING IMAGES
Billings Sign Service imagery compliments the contrast in the color palette while the angular shapes and clean lines are designed to the mimic architecture in the imagery. Always choose photos and drawings carefully ensuring that Billings Sign Service clients, services and processes are portrayed in a clean and compelling manner.

PHOTO GUIDELINES
- Photos should be taken with great care, find a steady stance, breath out slowly and take the photo.
- Photos sould be taken from multple angles, always consider each corner of the photograph.
- All photos must be high resolution images that are clean, crisp and in focus.
- Avoid Hard shadows or excessive over exposure.
- Photos should appear natural with no signs of stylistic filters.
- Blurry, grainy or low quality photos should not be used even if the content is good.
COMBINING TEXT & VISUALS
When the imagery is combined with the clean lines of the sans-serif font the brand should take on a more bold and dependable feel while the strength of the logo maintains it's brand equity and continues to build confidence in the brand. That being said there are a few areas to consider when combining text with visuals elements.
- Always consider how text will appear when used as an overly, don't be affraid to add a touch of shadow or subtly darken the image to ensure legibility.
- Always consider balance in the design process.
- Give things room to breathe.
- Keep it as simple as you can.
- Reuse design elements in a new and original way.
BRAND ELEMENTS
Billings Sign Service uses multiple brand elements that mimic architecture while also building an engaging visual experience. These elements should be used with moderation and should not be the focal point of a design, however, they are an excellent tool to help draw the eye to the focal point while creating interest and balance. It's important to note that the shapes and angles created by the brand elements also mimic the shapes and angles found in the typography.
